Where Can I Buy a Kindle?

If you are just wondering where can I buy a Kindle cheap, the place for the best price is directly from Amazon.com.

Lucky for me I received a Kindle as a Christmas present from my girlfriend two years ago. It is the 2nd generation one with the keyboard included. It took some getting used to in the transition from a physical dead tree book. Now I couldn’t imagine buying a book off the shelf when I can just browse the Amazon website and buy it with their simple “1-Click” ordering system.

How Does a Kindle Work

First you power up the Kindle using the switch at the top and it will restore you to the last page you were on. This is great for times when you are halfway through your book and just want to pick up where you left off.

If you want to buy a book on Amazon, then you hit the Menu and then you can sort by type of material you’re looking for – yes they even deliver magazine and newspapers by the subscription or in single copies. Then there are even more options with a breakdown of the categories and by genre. Of course, you can skip all this by entering in the name of the book you want into the search field. Once you purchase your book it is sent via 3g or a wireless connection within a minute to your device, which I find incredible. If you already have a book or two on the device, then you simple hit Home and scroll down your list and select what you want to read. It really is that simple.

When I finally got used to the menu system and spent nearly an hour going through the categories, I finally settled on getting a copy of “Sherlock Holmes” to read just in time for the movie to debut in theaters. One thing I’ve learned is to approach the store with a book in mind, since you can spend so much time browsing around all the choices that you can end up not making a choice at all.

Amazon Kindle Review

One thing I like about the Kindle is the elegant design of the device. The white color with a smooth finish looks sleek and stylish. It is lightweight and very easy to hold, which is more important than you think. I know that you can read Kindle books via their app on a tablet, but most tablets I have come across get heavy after holding them for a couple hours. I also love the digital ink, which makes it really easy on the eyes – even if you are reading it outside with the sun shining there won’t be a glare.

I love how simple Amazon made it to order and organize your book collection. Where you could spend a lot of time browsing around in a bookstore looking for something interesting, the Kindle turns the shopping experience into just a couple clicks. Like I mentioned earlier, nowadays I already know what book I want to pickup when I hit the bookstore, so the customer reviews don’t mean that much to me personally. However, if you are looking for some new reading material and decide to hit the Free Bestsellers List they can be pretty useful for sorting out the bad books without spending time on the first couple chapters.
